Over the past ten years, Jean-Marc Godefroy has created his stud from A to Z close to Noyant, in the East of the Maine-et-Loire region near the breeding operations of Serge Boucheron and Gaëtan Gilles.

Born just 50m from his current stud, Jean-Marc Godefroy was immediately attracted by the horse world, despite his work in a factory. His first contact with horses was exercising trotters at the weekend. He then took on a few jumping and flat mares who bred well. So from modest beginnings, Jean-Marc Godefroy found himself as the breeder of the useful Etoile de Pelmer, Rahiba and Diamonic. This success convinced him to take the plunge and launch his professional breeding career.

In association with his son Richard, Godefroy created a part-private, part-public breeding and stallion structure on 52 hectares of particularly rich land.

Godefroy produced several decent jumpers for the colours of Patrick Papot, notably Un Nononito, winner of the Gr 3 Prix Congress and Prince Tatane, winner of the Listed Grand Steeple-Chase de Craon.

The Haras de Pelmer broodmare band consists of 25 broodmares, including the dams of Un Nononito and Prince Tatane, as well as Une Saint, Sainte Nono and for the flat, Irish Wells' sister Orange Blossom and Apparemment, dam of Angle Droit.

Godefroy's first stallion was Diamond Prospect, sire of Diamonic. Today, he offers the services of Arvico, an imposing son of Pistolet Bleu, Near Honor, a son of Highest Honor from a good German family, and latest addition Risk Seeker, a son of Elmaamul and triple Group winner in France.
