Ascot (GB) : insuable Coltrane
Le formidable marathonien anglais Coltrane a remporté au courage, pour la 2e fois consécutive, les Sagaro Stakes (Gr.3), préparatoire à la Gold Cup de Royal Ascot. Entrainé par Andrew Balding, Coltrane, bien soutenu par Oisin Murphy, a pris la mesure du favori Sweet William puis a résisté à l'outsider Caius Chorister. Dauphin de Courage Mon Ami dans la Gold Cup 2023, Coltrane, aujourd'hui âgé de 7 ans, avait gagné la Lonsdale Cup (Gr.2) à York en août dernier, et efface ici son récent échec dans la Dubaï Gold Cup (Gr.2).
